Ontario NDP
The Ontario NDP was preparing for a provincial election when a snap call shifted timelines overnight. They partnered with Common Point to build a campaign-ready visual identity. The goal was to introduce a high-impact brand that could raise the profile of the leader, energize the base, attract new voters, and drive turnout in the dead of winter.
Our work focused on building a visual identity designed to move at campaign speed. The system needed to be built quickly and rolled out during the election. Rather than expressing a single mood, the identity was designed to adapt to different moments in the campaign, motivating people to act, connecting on a human level, and carrying weight when addressing serious issues.
At the centre of the system is a modular logo built around the trillium, designed to flex across multiple wordmark variations. Bright colours, bold fonts, and character illustrations help the brand build momentum and excitement. Neutral colours, quieter typography, and photography allow the brand to connect with people and address serious issues. Motion is used throughout as a tool to amplify tone, reinforcing energy when needed and restraint when the moment calls for it.
The brand rolled out during the campaign, supporting rapid production and consistent application under real political pressure. The result is a flexible visual system built to sustain momentum for the Ontario NDP.
